As a matter of fact, I "soloed" on my 16th birthday, about 3 hours before I got my driver's license. :) Although I no longer fly "real" airplanes, that knowledge sure gets put to good use when operating an UAS (Unmanned Aerial System). Aerial photography has been around a long time, but with the recent proliferation of drones it is a quickly changing industry. While "everyone and their brother" has a drone, there is a lot that goes into operating an UAS in a safe and legal manner. Regardless of who you hire, here are a few legal things to keep in mind when selecting someone for your aerial photography and/or video needs.

• The Unmanned Aerial System industry is growing tremendously fast and changing every day. There's a lot of new technology and regulations to keep up with that many people are simply unaware of.
• There are severe penalties that may be incurred if you hire someone who is not a FAA Certificated Remote Pilot to photograph or film with a drone.
• FAA Part 107 certification
• Airspace authorization (required for many flights in the Knoxville and Nashville area)
• UAS flight insurance

Standard Aerial Video and Stills

$200 per hour

With basic editing, a 1 minute video of your property normally runs $400 to $600

If you need 10 quick photos of your construction site, that normally runs $300 to $400.

Architectural Images

$300 per flight

$75 per edited image
