Sports Photography Knoxville
2020. Ugh. While I was fortunate enough to stay way busier photographing sports than a lot of my colleagues, it has been a rough year as far as sports photography goes. Due to Covid restrictions, the number of photographers allowed almost everywhere has been greatly reduced. Last week it was my turn to get back inside Neyland Stadium, and it was awesome to cover the game!
For my photographer buddies, this was my first college game using nothing but the new Canon mirrorless R5 and R6 cameras. I can’t say enough about how well these cameras perform and I’ll be doing another blog post about that soon. The mirrorless revolution is here to stay…I have been using the Canon R for my architectural work for well over a year but Canon really, really knocked it out of the park with both the R5 and R6.

I was serving as the pool photographer, which means that a whole lot of outlets were going to be using my images. I’ve had stuff published all over the world in about every format there is, but nothing makes me happier than having my work in our local newspaper, The Knoxville News Sentinel (maybe it has something to do with the three bicycles I wore out delivering them). Front page of the Sunday sports section is a good place to be. 🙂
