Netbook’s and Photographer’s, Do They Play Nice?

So after having a few small problems with my big bad trusty HP Laptop, I decided two things…1) I needed a backup laptop, and 2) I really wanted to try something smaller.

I did a bit of research and it looked like one of the better Netbooks in town was being carried by Verizon, and with the 2 year broadband agreement it was a really sweet deal. I was able to drop the tethering option off of my Blackberry, signed up for another deal, and the difference to me was just $9 a month. I feel like I’ve been a big part of Verizon’s success for a long time .

My big concern was with how well the Netbook would handle Photo Mechanic and some version of Photoshop, and I installed the latest version of PM along with an old version of Photoshop (7.0). So far I’m thrilled with the results! The netbook is a HP 311 with 2 GB of RAM, 160 GB hard drive, and Windows 7.0 home premium. It ingests fast, edits fast, and is speedy on the internet. Battery life is silly, much longer than any “real” laptop I’ve had. It’s big workout will come this weekend at a wedding in Florida, so far I’m thinking it’s a good choice and I’ll keep this thread updated…comments welcomed!

Hello There! I’m really excited about this offer and hope you will be too! I’m looking to expand my baby photography business and I would like to have some more sample images to use in my marketing, so here’s the deal…

You bring your baby (age 12 months or less) into our studio in West Knoxville (clean, warm, and baby friendly) and we will have a one to two hour stress free photo session with him/her at absolutely NO COST to you.
A week or so after the session you will return to the studio for a viewing session where I will show you between 20 and 50 fully edited images from the session. You pick out your favorite and you will receive a FREE 8 X 10 print! You DO NOT have to purchase a single thing at the viewing, the 8 X 10 is absolutely free. OpLove Photo Session in Knoxville

Last month we had another GREAT OpLove Session here in Knoxville. We always wait until the service member receives their album before we post anything online and we heard that this one was delivered today! It’s absolutely amazing to meet all of these wonderful people who are going on with their day to day life…working, raising kids, going to school…while their spouses are on the other side of the world, in harms way every single day. Scott AIT Graduation

My son Scott just graduated from Military Police Training in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. He’ll be home for 2 weeks then he’s off to Fort Riley, KS and from there he will probably be deployed overseas.
20 something years ago I completed Combat Engineer Training at Fort Leonard Wood and then went to Fort Riley…never thought I would ever see either place again, let alone have a son who went to the exact same bases in the exact same order that I did.
Of course we are WAY proud of him, here are a few images from the past week (The lovely young lady is his girlfriend Erica).

Porsches at European Auto Garage

Mr. David Hinkle from European Auto Garage contacted me this morning, there were some very nice 996′s and 997′s at his shop today and we thought it would be a great time to capture some images. Knoxville Senior Pictures
