Sadly it’s just a visit, but a lot of these guys will be home for good before long. It’s amazing how excited I get over these arrivals, as usual with the military it’s a lot of “hurry up and wait” followed by a pretty mad dash to the airport. Again, many thanks to the soldiers and let’s not forget the amazing job the wives do while the husbands are away!

Leonard Wood, MO. He’ll be home for 2 weeks then he’s off to Fort Riley, KS and from there he will probably be deployed overseas.
20 something years ago I completed Combat Engineer Training at Fort Leonard Wood and then went to Fort Riley…never thought I would ever see either place again, let alone have a son who went to the exact same bases in the exact same order that I did.
Of course we are WAY proud of him, here are a few images from the past week (The lovely young lady is his girlfriend Erica).
