  • Who’s This Randy Dude?

    Well, that's me! I'm from East TN, married to the lovely Laura, have way too many kids (two of which are Active Military), and would rather be spending time playing with the Grandbaby right now.

    On the photography side I have the coolest photography studio in Knoxville (ok, maybe I am a bit biased), have won several awards, teach a variety of photography classes, love working with kids, high school seniors, and families, shoot a lot of sports (bad habit #3), and have photographed everything from a Sports Illustrated cover to underground mines to some very awesome images of kids and high school seniors.

    My goal is to produce stunning images of my subjects using creative backgrounds, lighting, and posing techniques. My sports photography is located here. Thanks for stopping by!

A Battery RFS 278th ACR Christmas Party

Saturday night we had what turned into one of the coolest “corporate” type event/parties I have photographed this year in the Knoxville area, the A Battery RFS 278th ACR Christmas Party, which was held at the Armed Forces Club at the Airbase in Alcoa. Super great group, lots of energy and just a real good atmosphere to be in (including one soldier’s marriage proposal to his girlfriend). I owe a huge thanks to Jessica Weltner and Dan Browning for coming out and doing all the real work, you all did a GREAT job!  Joan and Jerry did a great job of having this thing organized, and of course we all owe a huge thanks to the soldiers. Every couple got to leave with a 5X7 print of their selves (like the one below) and all of the rest of the photos are available to the attendees at this link, 278th ACR Christmas Party.  Images will be online for 7 days (they will go bye bye on Monday, 12-12-11).

Knoxville Christmas Cards

It’s Christmas Card Time! This year I’m changing things around a bit, and have came up with what I think is an awesome deal. VW Wins!

I participate in an online photography resource known as NOBS Photo Success that has been a huge part of my learning process as a photographer. An image of Victoria (AKA VW and Tori) was nominated for their Photo of the Month contest, and with the theme of the contest being “Emotion” I though it stood a good chance of placing well. It did a bit better than than, winning first place!:)Our grand prizes included a new backdrop from Silverlake and a super cool lighting DVD from Jason Groupp. So I want to give NOBS and the prize sponsors a big thank you, and of course a huge thanks to VW for being herself!

OpLove Pre Deployment Session in Knoxville
