I responded to a tweet  from Grover Sanschagrin (Co-Founder of PhotoShelter, which is integrated into this website) who asked the following about prospective wedding clients, “What are the top 10 things to ask a client before you agree to shoot”.

I responded with something along the lines of, “First question-Have you ever been committed to an institution or been forced to take anger management courses by a judge?”, and of course he just had to include that in this excellent article :)

All kidding aside, I’m scared to death of trying to cover someone’s wedding who is not going to be happy with us. Whether it’s me, them, or a combination of both I really want to make sure we are a good “fit” for each other. I truly believe that conflict between the bride and the photographer can result in some poor images, or lack of images. It is for this reason that I insist on meeting with the bride at least once, sometimes twice, before the contract is signed. The better relationship that the photographer and the bride (and groom) have going into the wedding day can really pay off with some awesome images!

And yes, I have declined quite a few weddings. But more importantly, I consider all of my past wedding clients great friends and hope to continue photographing them for many years.

Tiffany was absolutely gorgeous and DJ was pretty striking in his Dress Blues. As soon as they contacted me about covering his wedding my first question was, “How many guys will be in uniform?” Military Weddings really make for some powerful images!
I’ve known DJ for a few years as he was one of the guys that got my son Scott interested in joining the Military (they are both MP’s), so this one had some special meaning to me. Plus it was in Norris, where I am originally from. I dearly love this community and hope to move back there soon.
Many thanks to all of the family for their hard work, you were all a pleasure to deal with! Here are some images up to the reception, I’ll have more images and a video slideshow up soon.

I’ve already posted the complete sequence of images in Katie and Kyle’s album but some people have been asking for examples of the actual album. The album is 20″ by 10″ (each page is 10″ by 10″), is printed on 110# paper with a UV coating, and is of the hinged design, allowing the pages to lay flat.  This is a studio sample, the Bride and Groom’s copy do not have our logo on them.
