And another one is home! Sadly it’s just a visit, but a lot of these guys will be home for good before long. It’s amazing how excited I get over these arrivals, as usual with the military it’s a lot of “hurry up and wait” followed by a pretty mad dash to the airport. Again, many thanks to the soldiers and let’s not forget the amazing job the wives do while the husbands are away!

This Sunday we (my brother is in town, so I put him to work!) had the chance to cover a soldiers’ homecoming from overseas. Well technically it’s just a visit, but his family sure was glad to see him! And what a wonderful family they are, we sure had a GREAT time…:) Thanks for letting us be a part of it!

OpLove Photo Session in Knoxville

Last month we had another GREAT OpLove Session here in Knoxville. We always wait until the service member receives their album before we post anything online and we heard that this one was delivered today! It’s absolutely amazing to meet all of these wonderful people who are going on with their day to day life…working, raising kids, going to school…while their spouses are on the other side of the world, in harms way every single day. Here are a few images, followed by a video.

Norris Threshing Barn/Grist Mill Wedding

Yesterday we were lucky enough to photograph DJ and Tiffany’s Wedding which was held at the Threshing Barn/Grist Mill in Norris, TN. Tiffany was absolutely gorgeous and DJ was pretty striking in his Dress Blues. As soon as they contacted me about covering his wedding my first question was, “How many guys will be in uniform?” Military Weddings really make for some powerful images!
I’ve known DJ for a few years as he was one of the guys that got my son Scott interested in joining the Military (they are both MP’s), so this one had some special meaning to me. Plus it was in Norris, where I am originally from. I dearly love this community and hope to move back there soon.

OpLove Photo Session

Today we had a GREAT OpLove session at Ijams Nature Center. Great place for a photo session (many thanks to my client for thinking of it)! I hate that we can’t mention names, makes it hard to say how great everyone was…Dad is overseas and the little one is 9 months old (dad deployed when he was 3 months). He was a real trooper while we travelled all over the park We came away with some great images and I’ll be sending Dad his album in a day or two. Scott AIT Graduation

My son Scott just graduated from Military Police Training in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. He’ll be home for 2 weeks then he’s off to Fort Riley, KS and from there he will probably be deployed overseas.
20 something years ago I completed Combat Engineer Training at Fort Leonard Wood and then went to Fort Riley…never thought I would ever see either place again, let alone have a son who went to the exact same bases in the exact same order that I did.
Of course we are WAY proud of him, here are a few images from the past week (The lovely young lady is his girlfriend Erica).
