Been busy today planning out my schedule for the upcoming football season (First game is August 19th!) and also had a few nice surprises today.

One is the new Anderson County Football poster schedule, with an image of mine from last year as the background…

And the second surprise was the lead image on www.maxpreps.com, I remember this being one tall dude!

Feel The Heat Basketball Tournamet at Eagleton

Wow, what a weekend! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Wade Payne and I covered the “Feel The Heat” basketball tournament held at Eagleton Middle School. This is the second time we’ve been to Eagleton in the past 2 months, and as usual everyone there was great to work with.

Adidas Team Hustle Hoop It Up Classic

Last Friday through Sunday the Sports Photography Group that I work with, The Purple Lens Sports Photography, covered the Adidas Team Hustle Hoop It Up Classic Basketball Tournament here in Knoxville, TN. With 3 photographers (Myself, Jamie Dahl, and Grant Duncan) we covered 53 games (at 4 different gyms) and published over 3,000 images. My wife Laura took care of the onsite viewing stations and printing, which (as always), was a huge hit. All of the staff were great to work with and it was a really nice tournament to be a part of!

Marshall County 2009 Hoopfest Pictures (Findlay Prep vs Christ School)

The 2009 Marshall County Hoopfest was absolutely fantastic! I’m just now getting around to editing and uploading all of the images, one gallery is already published with MaxPreps and is available at Findlay Prep vs Christ School Gallery. I’ll just keep updating this post as stuff becomes available, here are a few of my favorites from #1 Findlays’ game with #17 Christ School.

Oak Hill vs Jackson Callaway is now up, the easiest thing to do is to go to Randy’s MaxPrep’s Gallery, as the galleries get published they will be available there.

Getting Ready for Hoopfest!

Life can be funny…I’ve been wanting a studio for over a year now…now that’s finally happened and I’m too darn busy to think about it Oh well, there’s next week. Oh yeah, Julie Poole has done her usual great work updating the Images By Design Group Blog, so take a look!

I think everything’s about ready to load up and head to Benton, KY to cover the 2009 Marshall County Hoopfest for CBS MaxPreps. I’ve been very busy getting everything gathered, ready, and organized and hopefully we’re ready for about anything. Big thanks to Jamie Dahl for letting me crash the basketball tournament in Oliver Springs he was covering, I was able to nail down some lighting issues there. Jamie published 5 games with MaxPreps, you can see them here. More big thanks to Russ Bryson who provided me with some great backup equipment (we Nikon shooters are a close bunch), I’ll sleep much easier knowing I’m covered if anything goes wrong.

So I’m leaving out early Friday morning, shooting 5 games Friday, 7 on Saturday, and back home on Sunday. The Tournament actually starts tomorrow at 5:00 PM CST, See Ya!!!

2009 Marshall County HoopFest

All the planning is now complete and I’m happy to announce that I will be covering the 14th Annual Marshall County Hoopfest for CBS MaxPreps on December 4th and 5th! Held in Benton, KY, this is one of the premier basketball tournaments in the United States and features some of this nation’s best basketball teams and players. This year the #1, #3, #17, and #22 teams in the country will be there and of course there are many top ranked players competing. There’s going to be some GREAT basketball going on!
